I was born in south Wales and after living in London for nearly twenty years as a teacher, I relocated to Cheltenham for a different pace of life. Upon arrival, I was almost immediately inspired to paint the breathtaking views on my doorstep but from a non-traditional perspective. As a result of moving back to the countryside, I have been reintroduced to my love for animals and feel a strong desire to encapsulate them on canvas. In particular, I love combining a serious representation with a sense of humour to capture their personalities and characters.
My interest in the Arts doubtless stems from my father who has spent his entire career as a professional artist. Since childhood I have been immersed in the world of art and I continue to explore my creativity through working with students and painting. My father has always been my inspiration and I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to work alongside him and share his knowledge and expertise.
I now spend my days creating quirky fresh contemporary art with the intention of capturing the countryside and both animals and people with humour and colour. I’ve never thought life should be taken that seriously and I have no intention of starting now.
